SMK – The National Gallery of Denmark SMK - The National Gallery of Denmark (Statens Museum for Kunst) is Denmark’s largest art museum, featuring outstanding collections of Danish and international art from the past seven centuries. SMK is located a short walk from Copenhagen's Nørreport station. The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is a leading international art museum and an absolute top attraction in Denmark. Art, nature, and architecture combine in a total experience that attracts guests from all over the world throughout the year. The Museum is located approximately 40 km north of Copenhagen in Humlebæk, in a beautiful old park offering magnificent panoramic views of the Sound.  The park provides a beautiful setting for Louisiana’s large sculpture collection. Museum Ordrupgaard & Finn Juhl’s HouseYou will find Museum Ordrupgaard and Finn Juhl’s House in scenic, peaceful surroundings just 10 km north of Copenhagen. The museum offers a unique collection of world-class art, design and architecture. The surrounding Art Park also features sculptures and artworks.Monet, Degas, Gauguin – and HammershøiAt Museum Ordrupgaard, you can explore one of Northern Europe’s most important collections of French Impressionism, featuring leading figures like Monet, Degas and Gauguin. In addition, visitors can enjoy an exquisite collection of Danish art focusing on Vilhelm Hammershøi and his contemporaries – as well as a succession of special exhibitions.Finn Juhl, Zaha Hadid and SnøhettaYou can also visit the former home of furniture designer Finn Juhl. Of course, you may simply prefer to settle on the lawn and enjoy the many sensory impressions offered by the scenic park.Ever since the couple who founded Museum Ordrupgaard, Wilhelm and Henny Hansen, moved here in 1918, a pleasant, informal atmosphere has infused this place. It still does, making the museum popular with all generations.In the café, the chefs conjure up dishes from fresh Nordic ingredients to provide pit-stop refreshments with breathtaking views to green parkland.

Gammel Strand showcases 6-8 exhibitions annually focusing on new Danish talent, the international contemporary art scene and artist's art-historical themes in a present-day perspective. Gammel Strand is a locally rooted, internationally oriented art centre and cultural hub in the heart of Copenhagen. The exhibition program presents art that takes a critical and nuanced approach to the present and focuses on the big questions of the time – from the intimately personal to global dilemmas. Gammel Strand is also a platform for conversations, debates, and activities that bring people, art, and culture together in new communities.New exhibitions: SOFT AS BUTTER, BRAVE AS A HARE - 18.09.2026 - 10.01.2027The exhibition presents works by Olivia Holm-Møller, a distinctive figure in Danish art history. Through colourful and energetic paintings featuring suns, stars, mythical creatures and inspiration from her many travels, the exhibition explores themes of courage, curiosity and the unknown. STILL JOY - 18.09.2026 - 10.01.2027Still Joy brings together new works by eleven Ukrainian and international contemporary artists, inspired by soldiers’ reflections on joy during the war in Ukraine. Through a variety of artistic expressions, the exhibition explores friendship, community, nature, hope and the human ability to hold on to joy in difficult times.   Gammel Strand’s café has one of the city’s most charming courtyards, while the shop offers exclusive Danish and international art books, lithographs and design objects. Gammel Strand metro station is located just 50 metres from the art centre.

BAKKEHUSET IS TEMPORARILY CLOSEDBakkehuset is an authentic Danish Golden Age home where history, atmosphere, and storytelling come together. Surrounded by its historic garden, the house offers a vivid and intimate glimpse into everyday life in the early 19th century.Step into the Golden AgeIn the early 1800s, Bakkehuset was a vibrant hub of conversation, creativity, and ideas. It was home to the influential couple Kamma Rahbek and Knud Lyne Rahbek, who welcomed many of the leading writers, thinkers, and scientists of their time. Their home became a meeting place where culture flourished—where literature, philosophy, and science intertwined in lively discussions. A visit to Bakkehuset offers a rich journey into one of the most defining periods in Danish cultural history.Through exhibitions, talks, workshops, and communal dining experiences, the house continues to celebrate the creativity, curiosity, and community of the Golden Age. The Fairytale AcademyIn the family-friendly area known as The Fairytale Academy, the stories of Hans Christian Andersen are brought to life in a playful and immersive scenographic installation.Designed for both children and adults, this imaginative space invites visitors to explore freely and take part in creative workshops inspired by Andersen’s tales. A Romantic Garden RetreatBakkehuset is embraced by a beautiful historic garden, inspired by the plants and aesthetics of Kamma Rahbek’s time. Here, you can wander among fragrant herbs, blooming flowers, and winding paths that evoke the charm of the 19th century.At the heart of the garden lies the café, Bakkehusets Orangeri, where you can unwind and complete your visit with a cup of coffee.
